Resolutions

The balloted standard has been put for public comment in the HL7 approved manner and all feedback has been reconciled and so the committee recommends to the HL7 Board that the standard be published.

"One of the corner stones of interoperability and patient safety. A HL7v2 atomic data rendering specification, and workflow information OBR/PID/OBX (all segments in messages need associated display rules). We request that the agency look to a program of rendering compliance in the interest of patient safety. This would involve a review of the SPIA documentation for pathology, and a review of result handling and status updates along with rendering of these updates and atomic data with a view to establishing compliance testing. This would not just be limited to pathology, but relevant to clinical and radiological messages."

• Anthony Cruice will draft based on committee comments OBR-25 as per inline comments.
• David McKillop will follow up with Kieron McGuire (ADHA) regarding best approach to address atomic display.
