Use of Terminology and other coding systems FG
  • RD presented the overview
  • The working group confirmed that LOINC is in scope
  • The National Children's Digital Health Collaborative projects will use the stated set of coding systems
  • The working group agreed that an approach where models produced would align to two profiles:
    • a general purpose one with less emphasis on required coding systems; and
    • a a project specific profile with more constraints
  • MB noted that the PITUS work may become relevant
  • The working group agreed to use NCTS profiles for creation of FHIR terminology artefacts e.g. CodeSystem, ValueSet and ConceptMap resources
  • The working group agreed to bind coded fields to ValueSet targets rather than implicit value sets (e.g. in SNOMED CT-AU or LOINC)
  • It was agreed that the working group could make SNOMED CT-AU content requests to the Australian Digital Health Agency (Australian SNOMED CT NRC)
