It was raised at this meeting that there were a number of participant related features that have been worked up via Agency models but now could be considered for the HL7 base participant profiles instead. Listing them here for due consideration at future meetings.

Patient profile

  1. Propose extensions to be added: mothersMaidenName (standard STU3 extension here)
  2. Propose extensions to be added: birthPlurality (Agency drafted; provides the total number of births)

  3. Propose terminology modifications to Patient.contact.relationship  – add “guardian”, “carer” and "nominated representative" (NCTS already working on this)

  4. Patient.communication.language – support for Indigenous Australian dialects
  5. Fix the identifier.assigner value for medicare number, IHI and others

Practitioner profile

  1. Propose terminology modifications for Patient.communication.language – support for Indigenous Australian dialects (as above)
  2. Consider codesystem to support Australian qualifications (as some of known Australian qualifications - eg my own - are not present in the default one)

Organization profile

  1. Identifier slice for NATA (however may be relevant for HealthcareService profile instead)

RelatedPerson profile

  1. Propose the draft Agency profile be merged upstream into the au-fhir-base IG

Location profile

  1. Consider creating a location profile
  2. And consider the addition of GLN identifier slice

ContactPoint profile

  1. Consider the HealthDirect extension for work contact types

HumanName profile

  1. Propose terminology modification:for name use extension for newborn name

Endpoint profile

State and territory valueset

  1. In order to support states and territories for identification as well as addressing purposes, propose changing the METeOR value domainin this valueset's from http://meteor.aihw.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/454148 to http://meteor.aihw.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/304682

  • HumanName - more specific name coding extension; codesytem + valueset to be defined; agency can supply draft of extension 
  • Endpoint Profile - maybe not high priority; WG cares at this point? 
  • States and Territories - NCTS + HL7 AU review METEOR referencing; is this an approriate set for use in base profiles i.e. does it contain all needed territories

  • Rob: make comment on minutes with a list of core extensions that would be good to identify for use in AU

  • Brian: follow up Tz database CodeSystem allocation with PA WG hl7.org
