Minutes
Brett update on Provider Directory FHIR IG:
SMD proof-of-concept projects run by the Agency will use PA WG produced specifications for provider directory
- SMD Technical Working Group (SMD vendors + client clinical/administrative systems) will participate in FHIR IG development process (and will implement for their directories)
- Base AU FHIR IG contains content relevant to the project; is the first of at least 3 proposed connectathons around the specification - opportunity for intro to FHIR and implementing specified content (May 26th)
- Proposed SMD TWG alternate week TC (same slot as PA WG) - open attendance calls specifically addressing provider directory specifications
- Brett: AU Base FHIR IG + Connectathon:
- Content has been completed further - missing items some patient identifier types; patient approximate date of birth; addresses australian/international and no fixed address
- Static branch published 14th April for connectathon; continued work published on CI build (http://build.fhir.org/ig/hl7au/au-fhir-base)
- Agency codesystem management and publication
- Brett: potentially Agency wishes to publish terminologies
- Brett: need some review of scope and overlap of use in this space
- Eric: all formats (not just FHIR) and distribution is important
- Eric: consider UMLS publishing and management of terminologies (https://www.nlm.nih.gov/research/umls/)
- Stephen: METeOR has REST API - could look at service interface to present content from original source (including FHIR CodeSystem)
- Brett: need to be able to work directly on immature content before commit to reference publications
Action items
Brett Esler and Brian Postlethwaite to draft the request letter to ADHA requesting contribution to building an IG for Patient Administration resources to support other project/profile work in progress and bring to the next call on the 15th for review.
- Brett Esler to raise the concept of this request at the HL7 Au board (NOTE: this has been done but not discussed in meeting)
