  • HL7 Australia Status update - new Board etc
    • Nicol Hill was the appointed absent board member 
    • Brian Postlethwaite accepted PA co-chair again, Michael Stein declined to continue, still open position for other co-chair
    • Group meeting of standards organizations
      • ADHA, Standards Australia, HISA, MSIA, IHE, HL7(au), FHIR.org
      • Organized by HL7 Au
      • Discussed roles of all the associations to work together
      • All agreed to meet again to continue discussions
      • Try not to have a conflicting message between the different bodies
    • Interoperability Roadmap document (from 2016) distribution status? - Awaiting approval from NHIPC
      •  Could this be tabled at the next meeting of the above group meeting of standards organizations
    • Secure Messaging EOI was released and will be covering use of FHIR resources, so expect that we should be using HL7 au profiles
    • Tentative plans to potentially run another WGM early in the year (April?), likely a connectathon as part of this, and education too
    • Jason Steen will be attending the Madrid HL7 International WGM to represent HL7 au (May 6-12)
  • FHIR STU3 status
    • Substantive changes finish Monday 20th (Australian time)
    • QA continues for additional week or 2
    • Expect publication around March 20th 2017
    • Anticipate that this should become the standard baseline for defining profiles moving forward
    • Desire to know when national projects are likely to move up to the newly published version
    • Expect final tooling to be ready end of March (IGs forge etc)
  • Publishing locations
    • Using the github source, infrastructure publishing tools, and auto-deploy to fhir.org

    • draft discussion materials still using confluence for dynamic definition and feedback
    • If/when balloting occurs, this will be done on content published to hl7 au and then on that
    • HL7 au TSC is discussing the balloting process with OO (v2 spec), and how this will be handled into the future
    • Corporate/Organisation/Vendor specific FHIR profile publishing unknown at this point
  • Argonaut Profiles for Australia?
  • What do people want to get from HL7 PA during 2017?
    • How will FHIR profiles/messages/documents get mapped to the v2/CDA world in the wild
    • Management of the governance of these artifacts
    • Promotion and alignment of activities for governance
    • Education for all levels (dev, operation, use) and awareness of activities
    • Hosting the development of profile artifacts for collaboration/consensus
    • Localizing the FHIR terminologies (bringing forward the AU v2 content into FHIR)
      • Publishing content for this into the NCTS?
  • Medicare number identifier namespaces approved - official profiles to be updated ASAP

Action items

  • Brett Esler to continue to follow up on interoperability roadmap document and pass feedback onto board
  • Brett Esler to update the official profile for the medicare numbers (and general cleanup with examples)
  • Angus Millar to update the namespace server with the details that have been agreed
